The aim of the article is to create a model and it being the basis, to describe the processes of spreading defamatory information in social media. The tasks are to mathematically describe the dynamics of changes in the number of people who have accepted defamatory information, taking into account the influence of key characteristics such as the visibility of content on social media, its emotional intensity (provocation), latent state of individuals and latency period. The proposed system-dynamic model based on balanced differential equations has become the ground to make a conclusion about the importance of monitoring and developing the methods to counter information threats in social media to maintain stability in society. The conclusion is also made about model development by a more detailed description of discrediting process in information networks. The conclusion is drawn about model development through a more detailed description of discred iting process in information media.
Key words: : defamatory information, social media, system-dynamic modeling, simulation experiment.
