The paper presents the features of mathematical modeling of magnetohydrodynamic mixing system of silicon melt of GT-DSS450TM experimental installation of directional crystallization. The aim of this work is to search for optimal current pulse shape in MHDF inductors and to estimate the influence of pulse shape and phase shift on the mixing efficiency of silicon melt. A series of calculations were carried out and the effect of current pulses in sinusoidal and triangular inductors on the efficiency of MHD mixing and maximum rate of silicon melt on the surface and in the volume was estimated. The distribution of the Lorentz forces in the volume of silicon melt during the flow of current pulses of various shapes through inductors is estimated. The studies were carried out by the method of mathematical modeling using the COMSOL Multiphysics software package.

The description of a technique to measure quantum efficiency is presented. The central formulae describing measurement process are given. The main parts of the measurement facility are shown. Measurement results for a HIT solar cell are presented. The aim of the work is the experimental measurement of quantum efficiency for HIT solar cells and determination of peculiarities of its spectral dispersion. In order to solve this task, the experimental facility was constructed implementing one-channel measurement scheme.

The aim of the work is to obtain from the experimental data of blue chip in white light source containing photoluminophor the main parameters of theoretical current-voltage characteristic (CVC) transition and analyze the effect of heating the structure of flowing current on the deviation of experimental CVC from the theoretical one to determine the conditions of the highest relative efficiency of the chip. The results of analytical and experimental studies of chip efficiency – a blue diode on GaN with quantum wells in white light sources TDS-P003L4U10 and BL-L522UWC are given. It is established that the efficiency of the chips depends on transition resistance ratio and structure consecutive resistance, determined by the chip temperature dependent on the current. The effect of chip temperature on the CVC in the range of 20 °С – 180 °С was studied. The most efficient use of supplied current is ensured when the transition resistance in this mode is substantially greater than the consecutive resistance of the structure. It was found that in powerful TDSP003L4U10 the deviation of CVC is caused by the resistance of contact wires connecting the crystal to highcurrent output, and in low-power BL-L522UWC - to the resistance of GaN layers as well as substrate.

An ionization gage for gas pressure measure for range with moderate to ultrahigh vacuum was developed. The operating principle of the gage is based on the ionization of gas molecules by electrons in a longitudinal magnetic field at the magnetic field above the critical that oscillate between cathode and anode after collision with molecules in the potential well formed by accelerating electrodes. The possibility of removing background current of ions collector conditioned to soft X-rays by significant decrease (to 5 volt) of voltage between cathode and anode was shown. It was experimentally proved that ion current dependence on nitrogen pressure in case on pulsed supply for accelerating electrodes in the range between 0,5 – 100 uTorr is linear in case of high-sensitivity of manometer.

Key words: ultrahigh vacuum, ionization gage, longitudinal magnetic field, potential well for electrons, soft X-rays, sensitivity of manometer.
